Major League baseball is auctioning off a small set of gold bats that have been autographed by MLB teams.

The bats are currently for sale on and prices range from $510 to just over $2500 for a Boston Red Sox autographed option.

Fans seem ready to take home a piece of history while helping fight childhood cancer. Several bats belonging to the most prominent teams in The Bigs have 30+ bids.

The auction started on October 3 and will run until 9 PM EDT on October 17.

Each of the auctions on the site is accompanied by a list that tells potential winning bidders exactly who signed the keepsake. The bats are signed by managers, players, and other key members of the organization.

A History of Fighting Childhood Cancer

Major League Baseball has made it a goal to support the fight against childhood cancer while helping to raise awareness for the deadly disease.

From the MLB website:

Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. As a founding donor of Stand Up To Cancer, MLB and its 30 Clubs have committed more than $43 million in financial support and in-kind assets for the fight against cancer. The work of the Stand Up To Cancer – St. Baldrick’s Foundation Pediatric Cancer Dream Team, launched in 2013 to help develop new immunotherapy approaches to childhood cancers, has resulted in significant achievements.

With some prices already headed towards $3000 it’s likely you’ll end up shelling out quite a bit of cash for your favorite team but it’s for a very worthwhile cause.
