Killing Eve is one of the biggest dramas on television right now. Earlier this year, we saw star Sandra Oh sweep award season with several wins and even a Golden Globe hosting gig. This year, all eyes were on her costar Jodie Comer as she won her first Emmy for her role in the drama.

Comer won outstanding lead actress in a drama series for her portrayal of a Russian assassin Villanelle in Killing Eve. It was her first Emmy nomination and win. Her costar Sandra Oh was also nominated in the same category. She also won over fan-favorite Emilia Clarke, as well as Viola Davis, Mandy Moore, Robin Wright, and Laura Linney.

Comer was so shocked that she won that she admitted she didn't even invite her parents to the award show as she did not expect it at all.

"My mum and dad who are in Liverpool, who I didn't invite because I didn't think this was going to be my time," said Comer in her speech. "One, I'm sorry. Two, I love you and I'm going to bring it home."

The series was also nominated for outstanding drama series but that was clinched by Game of Thrones. There's always next year though! Thankfully, Killing Eve has already been renewed for a third season.
